The BY&BY

A coffeeshop since 2002, The By & By is a Staunton staple. Formerly Coffee on the Corner, this cafe has grown from just coffee and desserts to gourmet espresso drinks, bagels, grilled sandwiches, craft beer and wine.

They now have a Beer Garden in a quiet outdoor space you can enjoy any time of day, and where dogs are welcome. They also love collaborating with local businesses: selling coffee and espresso roasted by Grains of Sense, delicious pastries from Newtown Baking, teas from Fairweather Farms, and featuring exhibits of work by local artists.

Located in between a world-renowned theater and a university, you can regularly spot actors from the Blackfriar's Playhouse swinging through before going backstage, and Mary Baldwin University students and faculty make it a regular study place, meeting venue and office off campus.

So, if you're in the neighborhood stop by and say hello to the team and you'll find yet another example of how sweet Staunton is.
